Myths in advertisements

The "I am man" Burger king commercial explicitly uses a myth to convey its commercial's purpose. In the commercial all of these different types of men come together and sing this song how they are real men and they don't want to eat salads and quiches, they want man- food, they want a nice, big, and juicy piece of meat, aka the Double Whopper from Burger King. They can only satisfy themselves with this masculine meal and be a real man. The ad then shows all of these strong men coming together to eat this "man burger." All of a sudden their is this myth that there is a difference between masculine and feminine food. I'm not so sure where this came from or when this happened, but now salads are considered too feminine, and I can no longer eat meat. Truthfully I'm not the biggest fan of tofu, and a girl needs her protein.
